Last week i found myself watching straight up (nothing new there i love seeing ian mugoya display his blondness) , that aside a young designer was the guest (i believe her name was ola) . I loved what i saw so i decided to check out her work on her facebook page.

I have nothing but love and admiration for her work BUT sweetheart if you want the world to take you seriously grab a pen and notebook....
1. This is her description (we are a fashion house that aims at the
production of creative items!! we PLEDGE OUR EXISTENCE TO STYLE! we
tell you what to wear and how to wear it. we let you in on the latest
fashion events and aim at promoting talent ...ITS AN OLA OLA WORLD ) - eer WHY?????????
2. (OPEN SLOTS TO MODELS WISHING TO JOIN OLA FASHION HOUSE..send your prtflio's to

A-ola) - who in god`s name uses smileys and short forms when advertising job positions????????????
3. (SOON TO UNLEASH OUR NEW M0DELS !!! QUESTI0N IS ARE U READY TO HANDLE
THIS GRAND AMM0UNT OF BEAUTY-H0TNESS AND WOW Put together in an amazing
OLA PACKAGE?) - what did grammar ever do yo you??????????????
4 (We simply l0ve african print...let us knw what you think ;-);-);-) ) - when you advertise your clothes with such a statement dont keep such a pic as shown above give more side and back views .and its O not 0, jeez.
5 . am already tired so am`a keep it short.......when talking to clients learn how to spell, personally i took you seriously until you removed vowels in your words. do have an OLA day..

1. I also saw the young lady and i must say i think her work is excellent, have even ordered some of her stuff.
ReplyDelete2. I tend to disagree with you about the employment bit..why should we care how jobs have been advertised or not, in the first place Kudos to her for creating employment for not just herself but others at such an age! It shows how clever and bright minded Kenyans like her no-longer have to wait to be employed but create the opportunity for themselves.
3. Just because Ola like's African Print that doesn't mean she has to wear African Print 247..we have seen African designers such us Wambui Mukenyi embrace African print in her designs but we do not see her wearing African Print through out.
4. I think you come out as bitter in this post and actively looks like this could be termed as slander as opposed to positive criticism..I may not know much about fashion, but i think on this one..it's a #fail, speaking with an objective mind. Your post is based on how she has advertised but not on her designs?! I think the most important thing is not how she advertises..but HER DESIGNS! :)

ReplyDeleteI think Ola has some amazing stuff and how she wants to write or tell the world about it is completely at her discretion. Such young and raw talent is very rare. Attacking her like this is just so wrong. Word to the wise, if you are going to criticize, criticize the product.
ReplyDeleteJust thought you should read #3 again. Can you find YOUR grammatical error? :)
